Livigno, Tuesday 1st March 2022 - The Livigno Ice Arena hosted the first edition of the Snow-Ice Stage organized by the ACI Sport “Michele Alboreto” Federal School. This is a special opportunity, for the first time implemented by the University of Motoring in collaboration with the Federal Technical Center of Livigno, useful for young students who have come out of the last Federal Supercorso to complete their skills on too much often unknown, especially to riders who grew up on the track. So on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 February the emerging pilots Andrea Kimi Antonelli, winner of the 18th Supercorso, Brando Badoer, Eliseo Donno and Valerio Rinicella ventured into practical tests and theoretical lessons. All supported by the ACI Sport staff assisted, on this occasion, by the specialists of the Ice Driving School. Pirelli's technical support is inevitable, alongside the School also in this academic activity.

From the asphalt circuit to the snowy one, the jump is considerable, so putting the wheels on the ice was an experience that helped the participants to hone their driving sensitivity on the four-wheel drive of the Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. The Director of the ACI Sport Federal School Raffaele Giammaria coordinates the teaching activities with the Federal Instructor Gabriele Lancieri, flanked precisely by the Director of the Livigno CTF Marco Baroncini together with the Head of the Ice Driving School and 2nd Level Instructor Oliviero Bormolini. Prominent presence that further enriched an already professional and competent work team was the former Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine, vice-champion in 1999 with Ferrari, today Instructor of the University of Traverso.

“We finished this new Stage in style - says Raffaele Giammaria - it got off to a good start also thanks to the weather, which helped to maintain optimal circuit conditions. The guys immediately got into the part behind the wheel of the Subaru, more preparatory for this particular activity, then moved on to Mitsubishi in the second part. We have seen an incredible improvement from our students in just two days. For them in this case the driving technique changes, the principles do not change: fluidity, timing, play between accelerator, brake and steering wheel are the details on which every driver must always focus. It is a high level activity that together with the CTF of Livigno we want to repeat also in the near future, to continue the work with the students coming from the Supercorso and complete their training ".

Kimi Antonelli, Brando Badoer, Eliseo Donno and Valerio Rinicella are part of a selection grouped by the ACI Sport Federal School over the last few years. Young people who have managed to show off in the main national and international karting series, passed several times and in different steps through academic courses and in-depth studies, as in the case of the ACI-FDA Camp in Fiorano rather than the Stage Karting. Antonelli, Badoer and Rinicella are already on their way to a season in the Italian F4 Championship 2022, while Donno will enter the Italian GT.
