Master the Art of Drifting: Oversteer Control & Dynamic Driving

The Ice Drifting & Sport Driving Course (Level 2) is designed for drivers looking to take their skills to the next level: turning a slide from an emergency reaction into a deliberate, smooth, and controlled maneuver. Ideal for confident everyday drivers who want to experience the thrill of continuous drifting on natural ice.

Behind the wheel of our studded AWD Subaru Impreza, you will learn to master vehicle inertia, balancing throttle inputs and counter-steering with precision on zero-grip surfaces.

Course Structure: Dynamic Briefing & Track Practice

Coached directly from the passenger seat by a certified ACI Sport federal instructor, the session combines advanced vehicle dynamics with extensive track time:

  • Technical Briefing (approx. 20 minutes): Vehicle dynamics, initiating and maintaining controlled drifts, Scandinavian flicks (pendulum turn), progressive weight transfers, and throttle modulation.
  • Dynamic Drills & Ice Circuit Stints: Initial handling exercises in the paddock (circle and figure-eight drills) to master counter-steering reflexes, followed by full stints on the ice track connecting corners in continuous drift, with debriefing intervals.

Course Formats:

  • Collective Course: 2 participants share the same car, alternating driving stints (a great setup to study lines and steering inputs while observing your partner's laps).
  • Individual Course: Private one-on-one session with dedicated car and instructor for the entire duration, maximizing your active driving time on track.

** VAT is not applied, Livigno being a duty-free zone (Art. 7 DPR. 633 of Oct 26, 1972).

Driving Courses FAQ

No technical clothing or helmet is required. Comfortable winter attire and warm shoes with thin soles are sufficient to ensure maximum pedal feel and sensitivity.

Absolutely, yes. The Basic Course is specifically designed for drivers looking to learn vehicle control on low-grip surfaces right from their earliest years behind the wheel.

In case of severe temperature fluctuations or heavy snowstorms that prevent the course from being conducted in total safety, the session will be rescheduled by agreeing on a new date.

GENERAL INFORMATION and RULES COMMON TO ALL COURSES

The Ghiacciodromo is open every day from DECEMBER to MARCH (in case of temperature variations it will be closed temporarily); however, not all days of the season are available for courses.
RESERVATION REQUIRED. Limited number of seats. Availability cannot be guaranteed in case of non-booking.

  • An ACI SPORT Federal Instructor will always be present in the car, with experience in rallies or races on track, national and international level, and above all with great knowledge of snow-covered and iced funds.
  • The cars udes are standard, all-wheel drive (with the exception of the Ford Escort Mk2 used in the "Historic Cars Course", which is rear-wheel drive), equipped with studded tires to learn and refine the right technique and acquire greater mastery and sensitivity to driving on routes with poor grip surfaces, without forgetting safety.
  • Both for the individual course and for the collective course, the initial theory part can be shared with other participants.
  • It is not necessary to show up with special clothing, such as a helmet, gloves or running shoes. Comfortable clothing is enough.
  • In the event of strong temperature variations or snow storms that prevent the experience from running safely, a new day can be agreed.
